DUI. Warren-based state police reported that on Mar. 1 at 12:10 a.m. on SR 6 near the Edgewood Motel, a traffic violation was called in regarding a vehicle that left the roadway and drove onto the front lawn of the Edgewood Motel. When police arrived on the scene, after speaking with the vehicle’s operator, Valentina D. Marano, 52, Sheffield, it was suspected that Marano may be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the violation. The accused was transported to Warren General Hospital for chemical testing. Blood test results determined that her BAC was above the legal limit. Charges, inclding two counts of DUI and additional summary violations, will be filed with District Justice Cynthia Lindemuth’s Youngsville office.
Criminal mischief. Warren-based state police reported that someone damaged a solar powered address sign belonging to a known 76-year-old female, Clarendon. The sign was damaged on Feb. 27 between 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Damage is estimated at $35. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police or the Warren County Crime Stoppers. The investigation continues.
Pine Grove Twp.
Crash. Warren-based state police responded to a one vehicle accident on Feb. 28 at 1:15 a.m. A 2006 Chevrolet Silverado driven by John W. Kiser, 58, Russell, was traveling west on Akley Road when the vehicle drifted off of the roadway and slid into a small creek. Kiser was not injured. The vehicle was towed from the scene by the operator. Police said that Kiser is being charged with leaving the scene of a crash and other traffic violations.
