Rotary seeks exchange family
The Rotary Club of Warren will host an exchange student for the school year beginning September of 2013, but needs help from a local family.
“We have a home for the student from September through the Christmas vacation, but we would like to find one or more homes in the Warren Area High School attendance area for the student from January through June,” said Addison Legere, Rotary Club president.
The Rotary club does not know yet from where the student will be coming or whether it will be a boy or a girl. That will be determined after the club has commitments for the entire school year. The home parents will have an opportunity to give input into that decision.
Most families who have hosted foreign students in the past has found it to be a rewarding experience. If you are interested in hosting a student for two or more months between January and June, call Legere at 706-6727 or Kerry Gern at 688-5800.
The Warren Rotary Club locally provides scholarships to high school graduates, helps support several local programs such as the Chief Cornplanter Council of the Boy Scouts, the Warren Salvation Army, the 4-H clubs of Warren County and is currently working on installing a park and mural at the corner of Market Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. The group meets every Wednesday at noon at the Conewango Club at the corner of Market Street and Second Avenue. Guests are welcome.
