Varsity slate

Here is the varsity slate of action for county winter sports teams for Friday, Feb. 22, and Saturday, Feb. 23:

FRIDAY’S SCHEDULE

Wrestling: Youngsville, Eisenhower at District 10 Class AA Wrestling Championships, at Sharon Area High School, 5:15 p.m.

Sheffield at District 9 Class AA Wrestling Championships, at Clarion University, 12 p.m.

Boys Basketball: Eisenhower vs. Commodore Perry, District 10 Class A Quarterfinals, at Oil City High School, 8 p.m.

Radio control

Garrett Allen set a new track record in the Slash Stock Oval class at Warren’s Riverside Raceway on Wednesday, February 13, completing 68 laps in 5:01.50. On Wednesday, February 20, Tim DiPenti set a new track record during a qualifying heat in the Nostalgia SPEC Oval Class, finishing 90 laps in 5:02.47. DiPenti broke his own record previously set four years ago.

Indoor soccer

Warren and Eisenhower played to a 4-4 tie in Lakewood Family YMCA junior varsity indoor soccer competition recently. Aldyn Poston scored three goals for Warren with Justine Lasecki adding one goal. Paige McCullough had an assist and Olivia Ashbaugh and Lasecki were goalkeepers.

During a 5-4 Warren loss to Falconer on Tuesday, Poston scored three goals and Gabrielle Enserro adding the other score. McCullough and Claire Abplanalp added assists and McCullough and Kathryn Lobdell shared the goalkeeper duties. Katelyn Leonard and Ashbaugh were defensive standouts.
