Wrestling: Youngsville, Eisenhower at District 10 Class AA Wrestling Championships, at Sharon Area High School, 5:15 p.m.

Sheffield at District 9 Class AA Wrestling Championships, at Clarion University, 12 p.m.

Boys Basketball: Eisenhower vs. Commodore Perry, District 10 Class A Quarterfinals, at Oil City High School, 8 p.m.

SATURDAY’S SCHEDULE

Girls Basketball: Eisenhower vs. Commodore Perry, District 10 Class A Quarterfinals, at Oil City High School, 4 p.m.

Warren vs. Hickory, District 10 Class AAA Quarterfinals, at Kennedy Catholic High School, 4:30 p.m.

College news

Warren Area High School graduate and Pitt-Bradford men’s basketball player Tyler Fantaskey scored three points for the Panthers during a 63-42 loss to Penn State Behrend in the first round of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Tournament on Tuesday. Fantaskey and the Panthers ended the season with a record of 13-13.

All-academic teams

Pennsylvania Football News released its all-academic teams for the 2012 football season this week. Included on the list were several members of the Region 2 champion Eisenhower Knights. Receiving the gold standard was senior Gus Bauer, silver standard was reached by seniors Jake Johnson, Aaron Lundmark, Nathan O’Brien and John Pascuzzi, juniors Carter Farrell, Alex Johnson and Rob Wilston and sophomores Chris Sanders and Jake Spetz and bronze standard was received by seniors Jason Clever and John Flaisman and junior Trevor Spicer.

Meeting

The Friends of Warren Basketball will hold a meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday in Mr. Passmore’s classroom at the Warren County Career Center. The meeting is open to the public.
