Ukulele song

circle planned

Have you ever wanted to learn how to play a ukulele, or do you already play one but don’t have anyone to play along with?

Then the ukulele song circle planned for 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Mugg’s Cafe in Youngsville is for you.

According to Mike Hampsey, the free event will feature Drew Danielson from Edinboro, who has formed Northwest Pennsylvania Ukuleles.

“All skill levels are welcome,” said Hampsey, adding that ukuleles will be available to play.

Blood drive set

The Community Blood Bank is reporting that its supply of negative blood types is still low, despite improvements in the level of positive types in the area.

The blood shortage has lasted for several weeks and blood drive turnouts have been negatively affected by winter weather and the flu, according to Dan Desrochers, director of marketing for the Community Blood Bank.

In an effort to replenish the local supply, a blood drive is scheduled for noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20 at Youngsville Fire Hall.

While positive type supplies are improving, all donor types are encouraged to attend.
