Work to win

Dear editor:

In the article published Wednesday about the Mock Trial Team at WAHS:

You say that your Trial Team “…ultimately finished our season and put hours upon hours of hard work in the courtroom and classroom preparing for the competition to waste”.

There is no downside to putting hard work into any good cause, especially learning. “One loss and you’re down for good” only works if there is no tomorrow. The picture shows all smiles among the group that are all winners whether placing first or last.

Never participate in anything you do not try your best to win and are not prepared to lose. The only loser is pride and being the next greater sin to selfishness, that is not a bad thing.
