Thomas J. Giordano, 71, of 7 Dar Valley Rd., Willow Creek, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2013 at his residence.
Born March 4, 1941 in Cleveland, he was a son of the late Patrick “Patsy” and Frances (Stiable) Giordano. He was a 1959 graduate of Bradford High School. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1959, served in Africa and he was honorably discharged in 1963.
He owned and operated Johnson’s Restaurant in Bradford, and the Giordano Wholesale Produce Company. He was the former Chief of Police for the Corydon Township Police Department. He later worked as a security guard at Zippo Manufacturing Company for Pinkerton Security and at the time of his death he worked security at Path Stone.
Mr. Giordano was a member of the Bradford Jaycees, a founding member of the Don Raabe Big 30 AllStar Charity Classic, a lifetime member of the Corydon Township Volunteer Fire Department, a member the Italian Club in Lewis Run, and the Eagles Club.
Surviving is one son, James Giordano, of Bradford, four brothers Anthony J. (Rosanne) Giordano, of Bradford, Patrick J. (Janet) Giordano of Houston Texas, and Charles C. (Elizabeth) Giordano of Willow Creek, one sister Gloria Jean Tobin of Ocala Fla., his former wife Regina (Backaus) Freeman, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Christina “Chrissy” Giordano who died December 6, 2008, two brothers James A. Giordano and John F. Giordano.
Family will be receiving friends Thursday February 21, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the HollenbeckCahill Funeral Homes, Inc. 33 South Ave. At 7:30 p.m. funeral and committal services will be held with the Rev. Raymond Gramatta pastor of St. Bernard Church officiating.
