Men to breakfast

Men of Warren High School Class of 1951 will have breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, at Perkins in Warren.

National parks trip discussed

There will be a final trip planning meeting for the Western National Parks trip at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, in the craft room at the Allegheny Community Center. The cost of the trip has been determined and there are a few items that need to be confirmed. Participants should attend; the meeting should be a short one.

AOC on the move

On Friday, Feb.1, the Allegheny Outdoor Club (AOC) will cross-country ski at the Art Roscoe Ski Area at Allegany State Park, in Cattaraugus County, N.Y. Participants should bring their lunch and meet at the warming hut at 10 a.m. For more information, call Pat Spicer at 757-8331 between 9 and 11 p.m.

On Saturday, Feb.2, the AOC will attend the annual Eagle Watch from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Big Bend Bird Viewing Platform at the Kinzua Dam Visitors Center. This will be a chance for participants to see Bald Eagles at the tail waters of the dam and to learn more about this once endangered species. For more information, call Bill Massa at 723-2568.

Also on Saturday, Feb. 2, the AOC will be attending the annual Snowflake Festival at the Jamestown Audubon Center. Participants will meet at 2 p.m. at the trail kiosk to ski the network of trails. Afterward, there will be a dish-to-pass supper at 5:30 p.m. at the home of Debra & John Young at 1588 Townline Road, Russell. For more information call Debra Young at 730-8388.

On Sunday, Feb. 3, the AOC will ski near Economite Road in Tidioute. Participants will meet at Musante Street in Warren at 1:30 p.m. For more information call Greg Burkett at (814) 723-4989.

Discuss Majengo Foundation

Allegheny Community Center, 42 Clark St., Warren, will have a program on the Warren Majengo Foundation Project on Wednesday, Jan. 30, at 12:45 p.m. in the Education Room. There will be a Powerpoint presentation given by Kay Dolan and others who went to Tanzania this past fall and worked at an orphanage helping to construct a new building plus many other projects. The public is invited to attend.
