BOYS HOOPS: Warren back in win column; Rockets run away from Ike

WATERFORD -Warren ended the first half of the Region 6 boys basketball schedule with a 76-51 win on Thursday at Fort LeBoeuf.

The Dragons established an up-tempo pace right from the start – using a trap defense to create easy transition buckets off of steals, and jumped out to a 24-7 first-quarter lead.

“And when we needed to be, we were patient, got into sets and got good looks,” said Warren coach Jeff Berdine, whose Dragons are 8-4 overall and 3-3 in region. “We played 32 solid minutes tonight.”

Matt Sandberg led Warren with 17 points and had six rebounds. Warren had a good night on the boards, with Austin Jerman adding seven rebounds and eight assists, Collin Fantaskey and Tanner Stanz six rebounds each, and Mark Davis four blocks.
