WRESTLING: Saegertown handles visiting Eisenhower

SAEGERTOWN – “We got pretty what we were expecting,” said Eisenhower wrestling coach Kiel Woodburn of the Knights’ 57-9 loss at Saegertown on Thursday. “Saegertown is on of the top teams in the region.”

Saegertown is 7-1 and in second place in Region 3 after the home win. Eisenhower is 4-4 in region.

One of Ike’s goals in the match, said Woodburn, was to match Saegertown’s intensity, no matter the result. “Starting out, we did,” he said.

Ike won the first two matches on the mat with Jake Johnson’s decision at 195 pounds and Hunter Kepple’s second-period pin after trailing 1-0. Saegertown won every other weight class.
