Alicia R. Amroski of Russell, a 2008 graduate of Eisenhower High School, has received a bachelor of science degree in biology/chemistry and an associate degree in nanotechnology from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania on Dec. 15. At Lock Haven, Amroski was a member of the cross country/track and field team, chemistry club, nanotechnology club and LHU Student Ambassador. She is the daughter of Peter and Janet Amroski of Russell.

Two local students graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Technology after the fall semester:

Christian J. Falvo, Warren, earned an associate of applied science degree in forest technology

Nathaniel T. Warner, Warren, earned an associate of applied science degree in information technology: technical support technology emphasis.

Three local students were named to the fall 2012 dean’s list at the Pennsylvania College of Technology:

Adam M. Albaugh, Warren, a bachelor of science candidate in welding and fabrication engineering technology;

Gabriel B. Olson, Youngsville, an associate of applied science degree candidate in surveying technology

Danielle M. Vanderhoof, Warren, a bachelor of science degree candidate in business administration: marketing concentration

Jane Larson, a senior religion major at Westminster College, New Wilmington, Pa., has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2012 semester. She is the daughter of Richard and Dawn Larson and a graduate of Warren Area High School.

Brent L. Wolfe, Warren Area High School Class of 1981, has received a Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.) from Widener University, Chester, Pa. His doctoral dissertation was approved in December and has been forwarded for publication. The Ed.D. in school administration also provided for certification as superintendent/assistant superintendent, K-12, as conferred by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. He is presently employed by the School District of Lancaster as a school psychologist.

Several local students received honors at the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville after the fall semester. Named a president’s scholar with a grade average of 3.5 or better were Lacy Wolford, daughter of Larry and Monica Wolford, Tidioute. Named dean’s scholars with a grade average of 3.2 or better were Joshua Duston, son or Randy and Dawn Freeman, North Warren, and Emily Harris of Pittsfield.

Trenton Berardi of Warren was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2012 semester at Alfred University, Alfred, N.Y. Berardi is a senior mechanical engineering major in the Inamori School of Engineering. A graduate of Warren Area High School, he is the son of Bob and Rhonda Berardi. Students must earn at least a 3.5 grade point average to qualify for dean’s list.

Several local students at Thiel College, Greenville, were named to the fall 2012 dean’s list: Eleanor Grace Belleau, a senior and a resident of North Warren, has been on the list nine times. Kailee Ann McClement, a sophomore and a resident of Warren, has been on the list one time. Lyle Dean Shine, a junior and a resident of Tiona, has been on the list three times. A Thiel College student must attain a grade point average of 3.40 on a 4.0 scale while being enrolled full time to be eligible for the dean’s list.

Elley Trubic of Russell has been named to the fall 2012 president’s list at Mansfield University. To be named to the list, a student must be attending the university full-time and attain at least a 4.0 grade average for the semester.

Four local students were selected for “Who’s Who among Students in American Universities and Colleges” at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. Among those were:

Kristen Bertch a December graduate majoring in criminal justice from Clarendon; Nyssa Brumagin, an interdisciplinary arts major from North Warren; Rita Cecco an elementary education major from Warren; and Elizabeth Tipton, a history-political science and social studies 7-12 major from Warren. Students were selected for this honor based on a combination of the following criteria: leadership and participation in co-curricular activities; service to the college community; and academic achievement.

Davenport University, Grand Rapids, Mich., has announced that Mary Jewell of Warren has been named to the president’s list for the fall 2012 semester. The list recognizes students who excel with outstanding academic performance. A student must maintain a minimum 3.8 grade average while enrolled in at least nine credits of regular coursework.

Megan Morrison of Warren was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2012 semester at the University of Mount Union. Morrison, a junior early childhood education major, graduated from Warren Area High School before coming to Mount Union. To be eligible for the list, students must have completed at least 12 credit hours of coursework while achieving a grade point average of 3.550 or better with no grade below a B.

Jillian Johnson of Sheffield and Allison Kitchel of Youngsville graduated from Wilkes University, Wilkes-Barre, Pa., in December. Johnson earned a master of science degree in education. Kitchel also earned a master of science degree in education.

Hamilton White of Lakewood, Colorado, and formerly of Tidioute, has been named to the dean’s list for the summer 2012 session with a 4.0 average at DeVry University, Westminster, Colorado, studying for a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems with a concentration in computer forensics. His anticipated graduation year is 2016.
