Sugar Grove tops Penn York?Trap

The temperatures were great and attendance was high for this week’s Penn York Winter Trap League competition held Sunday at Pine Grove Sportsmen’s Club. A total of 164 shooters made the trip and Sugar Grove emerged as the winning team.

The perfect conditions allowed for a variety of perfect 50’s with Sugar Grove’s Reed Johnson, Colton Black and Jon Shelton, Kalbfus’ Tom Sleeman, Pine Grove’s Scott Carter, Celoron’s JoAnn Lewis, Kane’s Ed Pennington, Carroll’s Rick Rusiniak and Busti’s Tiffany Decker and Kirk Decker all posting perfect scores on Sunday. Mike Carrington and Cassie Hollabaugh shot their first 25 straight. Jacob Grove also recently shot his first 25 straight.

Shelton was the high junior with his 50, Andrew Hvizdzak was the high sub-junior with a 49 and Tiffany Decker and Lewis shared the high lady position with 50’s. Spear Proukou was the high vet with a 49, Sleeman the high senior vet with a 50 and Jim Stearns was the high super senior vet.

Next week’s competition will be at the Randolph Rod and Gun Club.
