Mr. Rudolph “Rudy” Rothrouff, 80, of Sheffield, passed into the next life at 9:52pm on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 in Warren General Hospital following an extended illness. He was born November 19, 1932 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Ruth Hopkins.
Mr. Rothrouff was retired from the steel mills in Pittsburgh and had been a resident of Warren County for the last eighteen years. He was an avid Steelers fan, enjoyed guns, and loved trains.
Rudy is survived by his wife of 22 years Catherine Powell; thirteen children Stephen Rothrouff, Warren, Jodi Rothrouff, Russell, Jody Ambroselli, Pittsburgh, Dennis M. Powell, Sheffield, Amy Simoni, Pittsburgh, Bill Powell, Sheffield, Dennis C. Powell, Warren, Stacy Dinnel, Vestal, NY, Michelle Jorden, Sheffield, Tracey Rothrouff, Debbie Roth rouff, Terry Rothrouff, and Rhonda Rothrouff, all of Pittsburgh; two brothers, George Meighan, Titusville and Gary Hopkins, Fla.; 26 grandchildren, Nicholas, Beanie, Adrianna, Deanna, Daylynn, Katie, Dennis, Jr., Abbey, Larry, Tosha, Stevie, Keichaun, Matt, Ariel, Valerie, Camden, Dustin, Cody, Reily, Sam, DaVaughn, Dylan, DJ, Gianna, Sophia, and Addison; several greatgrand children; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother, Rudolph was preceded in death by a daughter Ruth Meighan and a brother Phillip Meighan.
Funeral and committal services will be held Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 3:00pm in the Borden Lloyd Funeral Home with Reverend Father John R. Neff, pastor, St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in Sheffield Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2:004:00 and 7:009:00 pm Friday, January 11 at the funeral home.
