BOYS HOOPS: Ike boys drop ninth straight
COCHRANTON – Eisenhower’s early season struggles continued Saturday as the Knights dropped their ninth straight contest, 57-30, to the Cochranton Cardinals, at Cochranton Area High School.
Cold shooting doomed the Knights early in the game as the Cardinals built a large 19-point lead by halftime. The Cochranton blitz wasn’t nearly as intense in the game’s second 16-minute half, but the Cardinals had more than enough to improve to 6-4 on the season.
Colin Shine was the lone Knight to enjoy a strong shooting game, finishing with a team-high 16 points. No other Eisenhower player scored more than four points with both Ryan Williams and Nathan O’Brien reaching that mark. The Knights’ leading scorer Aaron Lundmark was limited to just two points.
Cochranton the junior varsity contest, 41-25. Casey Vincent paced the Knights with 13 points.
The Knights (1-9) return to the court Tuesday when they host Class AAA Bradford.
