WCCS teams fall twice to CLA

SAGERTOWN – Warren County Christian School’s boys basketball team ran into a more experienced opponent Friday, dropping a 47-16 decision to Christian Life Academy.

The first half was especially hard on the Lions as the hosts built a 31-1 lead by intermission. To WCCS’ credit, the Lions kept fighting and the remainder of the game was played extremely even.

Josh Wagonseller led the Lions with seven points and Carson Moore chipped in six points. Eric Sorenson and Trevor Phelps also scored in the loss.

CLA won the junior varsity outing, 39-20. Sorenson and Tommy Jones scored eight points apiece for WCCS.

WCCS (0-4) returns to action Tuesday when it hosts Erie Bethel.

Christian Life Academy 46, WCCS 12

SAEGERTOWN – Turnovers and rebounding plauged the Warren County Christian School Lady Lions for much of a 46-12 loss to Christian Life Academy on Friday.

The Lady Lions fell behind 24-4 in the first half and were unable to recover in the second half while falling to 0-3 on the season.

Jessica Lauffenburger led the Lady Lions with six points. Beth Root and Kyra Keeler scored two points each and Allyssa Kerr and Desirae Kerr added one point each.

WCCS will try to look for its first victory of the year Monday when it visits Tidioute Charter.
