Are you looking for something new to do in 2013? Look no further! The Allegheny Community Center has the solution for you and your friends and neighbors. There are a variety of classes ranging from educational to strictly enjoyment to genuine exercise and there’s numerous games going on at various times, including bingo, pinochle, canasta, bridge, Wii assortment, scrabble, Mah Jongg, etc., and many exercise activities such as bocce, walking, Tai Chi, Yoga, pool, etc., plus an assortment of food-based events including a hot meal every noon, Monday thru Friday, bistro lunches on Tuesdays and Thursdays, special parties at noon for most holidays, and a monthly evening special dinner most months. There are many enjoyable and educational trips scheduled well in advance for one-day and many-day outings. You can call the Center at 723-3237 for details and to sign-up or stop at 42 Clark Street, second floor of the TAWC building, for a tour and sign-up and participation if you’d like. That’s 2013!

This is a special reminder to all trippers that the ACC Trip Policy is available at the Center.

All non-casino trips leave from the CRI parking lot located on Pennsylvania Avenue West, just over the railroad tracks on the left (along the river), unless otherwise instructed to park elsewhere. Salamanca Casino trips depart from the Big Lots parking lot at the Warren Mall, as always. Not sure, just call 723-3237!

ACC is open from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday with extended hours until 7 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday. ACC is closed for all activities and meals on legal holidays and on those days when Warren County schools are closed unexpectedly due to bad weather. Hot lunches are available Mondays-Fridays at noon. You can call your reservation to 723-3237. Bistro lunch is available on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with no reservation required. Take-outs available.

The Warren-Forest Area Agency on Aging will serve the following menu at Allegheny Community Center and other Warren-Forest centers Jan. 7-11: tuna noodle casserole Monday; stuffed peppers Tuesday; scalloped chicken Wednesday, sloppy joe Thursday and chef surprise Friday. Locations at Marienville, Sheffield, Tidioute and Endeavor will serve menus from Monday, Tuesday and Friday for the three-day sites. Eligible participation is 60 years and older with a suggested donation of $3. Call 723-3763 for information regarding congregate meal sites or center locations. Menu is subject to change based on availability.
