Times Observer accepting photos for ’14 calendar
The Second Annual Times Observer Scenes of Warren County Calendar Contest is in the books.
In fact, the calendar was distributed throughout the county in the Dec. 31 edition of the Times Observer.
Many photographers sent hundreds of photos to the Times Observer in the hopes that their photos would be included in the calendar.
A panel of Times Observer judges selected 13 finalists – one for each month of the year and one more for the cover.
Online voting determined that a sunset landscape of a barn in winter by Denny Kyser would grace the cover of the second annual calendar.
Photos submitted by the following also earned places in the calendar: Edie Nulph, Gregory Swab, Sue Carr, Jonathon Campbell, Janell Gable, Nancy Schwab, Bill Simbeck, and Leslie Goodwill.
With only 13 spots available, many entrants were disappointed.
However, there will be more opportunities. The popular event will continue.
The email set up to accept entries will be left up throughout the year. Photos for the 2014 calendar may be sent at any time to firstname.lastname@example.org or taken to the Times Observer office. Entry files should be as large as possible and sent in JPEG format. The photos in the calendar are printed in a horizontal format, so vertical and square photos will have to be cropped to fit the space.
Any photos featuring scenes captured in Warren County will be considered. Photos that have been published in previous Scenes of Warren County calendars should not be submitted.
Additional copies of the 2013 calendar are available at the Times Observer office at 205 Pennsylvania Ave. W.
