Ruff Riders visit Rouse Suites

The Sugar Grove Ruff Riders Club met in December for a fun night of Christmas caroling and community service at the Warren County Rouse Suites. All members attending were encouraged to wear their club shirts and something Christmassy on their heads. Members took time to sing many wonderful Christmas Carols to 27 residents. Ed Bennett played his viola and accompanied his mother, Melanie Bennett, on the piano while club members sang along.

Several members, including Katie Downs, Abagail Downs, Melissa Bennett and Eliza Brook, shared their own piano music for the residents. Abagail Downs also shared some music on her guitar. All members were encouraged to bring a dozen cookies to share with the residents after they finished singing. The club provided fresh cider to go along with the cookies. When the members finished singing to the residents, each member took time to offer fresh cider and cookies to the residents. Several of the members even took time to visit and share with the residents. The group’s visit at the Rouse Suites was a wonderful evening for all.

The next meeting for the Sugar Grove Ruff Riders will be Jan. 7 at Mission Covenant Church located in Sugar Grove, according to Katie Downs, club news reporter and secretary.
