Irma Ruland Rogers died December 19, 2012 in Alexandria, Virginia. She was born to Clara Belle and Clement Earl Ruland on March 4, 1916 in Russell, Pennsylvania.
She was preceded in death by two sisters: Doris Hewitt and Frances Ruland, three husbands: Edward R. Ottenmiller, Edward J. Miller, and Keith Rogers, and by a grandson: Ralph K. A’Harrah in 2004.
Irma spent her early years in the Warren area, as the daughter of a small town grocer, and later, worked in various positions in Warren. In 1976, she moved to Melbourne Beach, Florida, to be near both of her sisters who had settled there.
In 1991, following the death of her third husband, she moved to Alexandria, Virginia, to be near her daughter, Diana A’Harrah and husband Ralph, who helped and cared for her for over 21 years.
She is survived by daughter Diana (Ralph), granddaughters Chris Ann Lee (Christopher) of San Pedro, California, and Gayle A’Harrah of Doylestown, Pennsylvania, and grandson Todd A’Harrah (Kelly) of Hatboro, Pennsylvania, five greatgrand children, and one great greatgranddaughter.
Irma maintained a joy of reading, avidly supporting the Atlanta Braves, raising orchids, gardening, and cooking in spite of numerous physical impairments in her later years. She deeply loved animals and had numerous pets. Animal causes were her favorite charities.
Her interment will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery with other family graves in Russell.
